When booking directly with us, you receive our best available rates, breakfast included and access to exclusive offers and packages. Booking directly also allows us to provide a more personalised stay, while supporting our family-owned hotel. If you happen to find a lower rate online for the same room type, dates and booking conditions, and the rate is publicly available and bookable online at the time of verification, please let us know and we will be happy to assist you. Booking directly also means you can communicate with us directly before and during your stay, allowing us to better assist with special requests and personalised recommendations.
What makes Lord Nelson Hotel unique?
Lord Nelson Hotel is a family-owned boutique hotel inspired by maritime history, located in the heart of Gamla Stan, Stockholm’s historic Old Town. The hotel occupies an exceptionally narrow historic building on Västerlånggatan, giving it a unique and intimate atmosphere and making it one of the narrowest hotels in the world. As a result, the rooms are compact and efficiently designed, reflecting the character and charm of the historic building. The interiors feature an extensive collection of ship models, maritime antiques and historical artifacts, reflecting a passion for seafaring history and exploration. Named after the legendary British admiral Lord Nelson, the hotel celebrates the spirit of maritime discovery and adventure. Lord Nelson Hotel was the first hotel in The Collector’s Hotels, a family-owned collection of boutique hotels in Gamla Stan that also includes Victory Hotel and Lady Hamilton Hotel, all located within a short walking distance of each other.
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is from 15:00 and check-out is until 12:00.
What type of breakfast do you serve?
We offer a breakfast buffet with a selection of cold cuts, cheeses, eggs, bread, yoghurt, cereals and fresh fruit, as well as coffee, tea and juice. Breakfast is served 07:00–10:00 every day.
Does the hotel have a restaurant?
There is no restaurant on site. However, guests are welcome to visit Bistro Emma at Lady Hamilton Hotel, a seasonal restaurant open from 1 May to 30 September, serving Swedish classics and seasonal dishes. Leijontornet at our sister hotel Victory Hotel, located just a few minutes away, is an ultra-vinous restaurant and wine bar created by chef Daniel Crespi. The restaurant is a destination for food and wine lovers, known for its extensive wine list with over a hundred wines served by the glass and a cellar featuring more than 3,000 different labels, alongside seasonal tasting menus and an à la carte selection. From mid-May to September, Leijontornet takes a seasonal break. During this period, we instead welcome our guests to our courtyard summer restaurant Vingården – an oasis in the heart of Stockholm where you can enjoy food and wine while dining under the open sky. Weather is never an issue, as the retractable cabriolet roof and heaters ensure a comfortable setting regardless of the weather. At Vingården we serve food worthy of any Southern European piazza, with a wine-calibrated à la carte menu featuring beautiful vegetables, seafood, fish and generous cuts of dry-aged meat.
Do you offer luggage storage?
Yes, we are happy to store your luggage before check-in or after check-out for a few hours. If you need luggage storage for a longer period, our reception team can recommend nearby services such as the Nannybag luggage storage at the bicycle shop on Lilla Nygatan.
Do you offer free Wi-Fi?
Yes, complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.
Do the rooms have air conditioning?
The hotel does not have air conditioning, but all rooms are equipped with fans.
Do you have a sauna?
No, but our sister hotel Lady Hamilton Hotel offers a sauna and relaxation area. Private time slots can be booked for 1.5 hours at a cost of 150 SEK per person. Reservations can be made at the reception.
Are dogs allowed at the hotel?
Pets are currently not allowed at the hotel, but certified service dogs are welcome.
Is there an elevator in the hotel?
Yes, most rooms can be reached by elevator. Please note that Small Double No Window and Family Rooms No Window are accessed by stairs.
Is the hotel non-smoking?
Yes, the hotel is entirely non-smoking.
Do you accept cash payments?
No, the hotel is cash-free. We accept major credit and debit cards.
Is the hotel environmentally certified?
Yes, the hotel is certified by Green Key, an international eco-label for sustainable tourism.
How far is the hotel from the metro?
The nearest metro station is Gamla Stan, just a 5-minute walk from the hotel.
How far is the hotel from Stockholm Central Station?
Stockholm Central Station is located approximately 1.5 km from the hotel. It takes about 15–20 minutes to walk, or a short metro ride.
How do I get to the hotel from Arlanda Airport?
Arlanda Airport is located about 40 km from the hotel. Guests can travel by Arlanda Express to Stockholm Central Station, by airport bus or by taxi.
Is the hotel accessible by car?
The hotel is located in Gamla Stan (Stockholm’s Old Town) where car access is restricted. Guests arriving by car may need to park outside the Old Town and walk the last part to the hotel.
Is parking available at the hotel?
The hotel does not have its own parking. We recommend the Gallerian parking garage, located about a 15-minute walk from the hotel, as it offers 24-hour parking. Parking options in Gamla Stan and Riddarholmen are very limited.
Do you host groups, conferences or private events?
We can accommodate smaller groups with accommodation. Our sister hotel Victory Hotel and the restaurant Leijontornet can host larger groups, private dining, conferences and special events. Please contact us for more information and availability.
What happens if I forget something at the hotel?
If you believe you have left something behind, please contact our reception team and we will do our best to assist you. If the item is found, we can arrange shipping at the guest’s expense.
